In this era of everyone being so ridiculously busy, a gift you made with your own two hands (even if it’s cheap) is usually received with amazed gratitude. Here are four DIY gifts they’ll love, and so will you!
Some advice before we get started, people…
Most DIY gifts are not last-minute affairs! Waiting until the night before that Holiday party to begin your work may not be possible, especially if you have several to make.
Start early, at least two weeks prior to when you actually need them. Don’t forget, you will need to shop for supplies and do a test run to see if you even like the gift in the first place. Allow enough pre-production time to experiment.
There are tons of great ideas out there, but here’s a starter kit…
#1Homemade Soap Macarons
Fun soaps are a great gift because, well, most of us need to bathe once in awhile.
There are tons of recipes for making homemade soaps. This is one we really like. Kirby Johnson from POPSUGAR Beauty shows us how to make soap macarons – they sound delicious, but they are actually cute, little soaps you can throw in a box to “wow” your friends and coworkers. (FYI, if all these ingredients seem overwhelming, DIY soap also comes in kits.
#2Natural, Homemade Deodorant (In A Cute Little Jar)
While were on the subject of hygiene, who needs store-bought antiperspirants with all of those nasty chemicals? A blogger going by the name of Alexandra has an easy-to-follow recipe for making an antiperspirant cream that is totally natural, and best of all, there are only three ingredients. Bottle up the concoction in an attractive jar for the perfect gift. Advice: Give to someone who’s into “natural” stuff, otherwise, they may interpret your gift as a hint-hint.
#3Custom Coffee Mugs
We don’t think it gets easier than this. You do need to have some confidence in your ability to write and possibly draw to do this, but wow, very fast, easy and fun. Here’s video blogger, Ingrid Nilsen, to tell you all about it.
#4Custom Phone Case
All you need is a gift recipient’s phone type, and a personal message, photo, or design you’d like to convey, and you can create an exciting gift for next to nothing in little or no time! Here’s video blogger, Cassidy, with a great idea for you.
Well, we hope you enjoyed these videos, and wish you luck in creating a great Holiday gift that will be appreciated for a long time to come!
